Easy way to remember strong acids and bases?
This might be kind of a stupid question but I was wondering if anyone has like an acronym or some sort of method to remember the strong acids and strong bases? I know there aren't that many to memorize but still...

An easy way to remember strong bases is by simply remembering that strong bases are all derived from the cations of Groups 1A and 2A in the periodic table. An acronym to remember strong acids is "So I Brought No Clean Clothes" - denoting Sulfuric Acid, Hydroiodic Acid, Hydrobromic Acid, Nitric Acid, Perchloric Acid, and Hydrochloric Acid.

One method I use to remember strong acids is using the acronym "CSI" and "NBC"
For strong bases just remember that they usually start with Group 1A cations (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Ca, Sr, Ba)

Re: Easy way to remember strong acids and bases?
Strong bases usually have a group 1 or 2 cation and an OH group. As for strong acids, I just memorized the 7 common ones (HCl, HBr, HI, H2SO4, HCLO4, HCLO3, HNO3).

I usually just recite the list in my mind every night before bed and every morning before brushing my teeth. hope this helps.
