Dot in a chemical equation
What does the dot, which stands for in combination, in a chemical equation mean? Does it mean that the compound is bonded with the other compound? For example Fe2O3 dot 3H2O?

The dot usually comes before one or more H2O molecules and indicates the compound is a hydrate.
