What is entropy, and how is it influenced by degeneracy ? Thanks :)

From what I have read, entropy is simply a measure of how dispersed the energy of a system is. In other words, it tells you the amount of disorder in a system. As to how it relates to degeneracy, I believe that the more degeneracy, the higher the entropy value is since their are more possible energy states. More possible energy states means a greater amount of disorder.
