Math question
Okay, I've been having a complete brain fart because it's been so long since I dealt with simple log functions. When converting say log x = 8, how do you solve for x? I can't remember exactly whether you use e, or if its a simple exponential function.

To get something out of a log, you use the base of the log for each side and raise to the power of each side of the equation. So for log base ten, you would make each side an exponent with base 10. For your example, you would get 10^(logx) = 10^8. Since the base and the log base are the same, everthing on the left side will cancel out except for x, leaving you with x = 10^8. You can do this for ln too, since ln is log base e, just use e as your base instead of 10.
