Heisenberg's Indeterminacy Equation

Postby Alice Weber 3I » Wed Oct 20, 2021 1:32 pm

Hi! So when a question gives a velocity like 4.00+/-5.0m.s^-1, will the indeterminacy of velocity always be the second number times 2? So for this example it would be 10?

Yes, it is the total amount of uncertainty. So if it can be +5 or -5, then there is an uncertainty of 10 because that is the range over which you are not sure the exact value.

Yes! Following Heisenberg's Indeterminacy, it would be 10.
