I'm not sure how to determine the wave patterns that's compatible with de Broglie's description of the allowed Bohr orbits of the hydrogen atom. What am I looking for?

The wave pattern has to be "in phase". It must start and stop at the same point, and must have a constant frequency, wavelength, and oscillating amplitude.

To add onto the other reply, make sure that the beginning of the wave and end of the wave aren't symmetric. For instance, the wave I attached looks like it would be compatible but the beginning of the wave could not be attached to the end of the wave without any "breaks". There are also some good explanations in viewtopic.php?f=27&t=81137
