How would we be able to get the empirical equations of the emissions of elements other than hydrogen? Would En=-hR/n^2 still work in cases other than hydrogen?

That particular equation was based off of experimental data on hydrogen, so it only works for hydrogen which has one electron and no electron repulsion. I think there is another equation related to that one called the Z-dependent Rydberg relation that works for atoms such as He+ that also only contain one electron
