Atomic vs. Molecular spectroscopy

What is the difference between atomic spectroscopy and molecular spectroscopy?

Atomic spectroscopy has to do with just the properties of atoms where as molecular spectroscopy concerns the entire molecule. Molecular spectroscopy is the study of how molecules absorb light and atomic spectroscopy is trying to figure out what elements make up the atom by by looking at the electromagnetic spectrum
