Confusion about Atomic Spectroscopy
I am confused about the concept of atomic spectroscopy. Can someone clear up this misconception for me? Thanks.

Atomic spectroscopy is the study of electromagnetic radiation absorbed and emitted by atoms. Different atoms have different spectrums (or spectra might be the plural idk) so when you analyze them you can determine the elemental compositions.

Re: Confusion about Atomic Spectroscopy
From what I gathered, atomic spectroscopy is the idea that we can determine elemental compositions by looking at the electromagnetic radiation absorbed or emitted by certain atoms

Re: Confusion about Atomic Spectroscopy
Spectroscopy is the analysis of light emitted or absorbed by substances
E.G.
Light emitted by an excited sample-->it passes through a prism in order to seperate colors --> the seperation of colors (lines/images) are recorded
The pictures of explanation online will be super helpful :))
