Memorizing spectrum

Memorizing spectrum
I've encountered questions that require a basic understanding of the order of the electromagnetic spectrum and how they relate to frequency and wavelength. I'm curious if you guys just straight up memorized it or if you have a thought process with figuring out the order.

I remember in class he said we should have a basic knowledge of the the spectrum and the ranges. I dont think we'll have to go into too much depth such as knowing the different colors that coordinate to the ranges, but at least know what the ranges are for gamma rays, microwaves, uv rays, etc.

The chem PLF shared this funny phrase during a session to help us memorize the order: "Really man, I see you, ex genius".
Really = Radiowaves
man = microwaves
I = Infa-red
see = visible light (because you can SEE visible light)
you = ultra-violet
ex = x-rays
genius = gamma rays

Continuing on with what Jimmy shared, how the order relates to frequency and wavelength, think of the “rays” end of the EM spectrum (x-rays and gamma rays) as being dangerous and thus high energy. A higher frequency/shorter wavelength will correspond to higher energy. So, as you approach gamma rays, the frequencies will get higher, and the wavelengths will get shorter.
To help orient you to the order within the visible spectrum (ROYGBV), think of infrared as coming before red, and ultraviolet as coming after violet. This way, as you approach the violet direction, frequencies will get higher, and wavelengths will get shorter. As you approach the red direction, frequencies will get lower, and wavelengths will get longer.
