How do you find the second n value, say if they give you n=1 and the wavelength 1.0 10^-9m and ask for the highest energy level. How do you use the H-atom equation to figure out the high energy level?

$\frac{1}{}\lambda = R (\frac{1}{n_{1}^{2}}-\frac{1}{n_{2}^{2}})$

$\lambda = 1.0\textup{x}10^{-9} m$

$n_{1} = 1$

$R = 10 973 731.6 m^{-1}$

Plug in and solve for $n_{2}$ .
