Can somebody outline some clear steps on how to calculate electron transitions for the H-atom spectrum?

1. Calculate the energy of the electron at its initial and final energy levels using En = hR/n^2

2. Calculate the difference in energy of the electron in the transition (delta E). The energy of the photon absorbed/emitted (depends on the context) is equal in magnitude to this energy difference but always positive.

3. The energy of the photon can be related to its frequency or wavelength by either the Einstein equation or the inverse relationship between wavelength and frequency.
