## Rydberg constant

### Rydberg constant

Does the rydberg constant only work for hydrogen atoms? Or can you use it for every element to solve spectral line problems?

Yes, the R constant can only be used when dealing with Hydrogen as the constant was determined based on experimental data for H.

Yes, the Rydberg constant is specific to H atoms.

The rydberg constant only works for the hydrogen atom because it only has one electron. It doesn't take into account electron-electron repulsion.
