I'm working on the 1.13 homework. How can you tell which spectroscopic series each transition belongs in?

For 1.13 to find what spectroscopic series the transition is a part of, use the wavelength found in part (a) of the equation. You may need to look at figure 1.10 of the chapter (Balmer series is visible light, Lyman is UV light, etc.) In this problem's case, wavelength is 486.1 nm which falls in the Balmer series.
