Postby Kati Rady-Pentek 1E » Sat Dec 04, 2021 11:38 pm

Hi, can someone please tell me what this equation is called?

E = -hR/n^2

and also provide an example of how to use this equation? Thank you!

That is the rydberg equation. It is simply finding the energy of the electron at a particular energy level (n), however it only apply to hydrogen atoms

This is the rydberg equation, there is also a different form of it on the constants and equations sheet that looks like frequency = R[1/n^2-1/n^2]
