Achieve question 16

How would I identify the hydrogen bond crosslinks between two polymer chains? What specifically do I need to look out for. (Question 16)

I would look at the electronegativity between the two atoms and they type of bond they exhibit (hydrogen bond, covalent, etc etc), as well as their polarity

Hi,

This is the way I look for hydrogen bond between two polymer chains. I generally look for a H atom sandwiched between two high electronegative atoms, F, O, or N. Or in other words, the hydrogen bond is link between H and one of these high electronegative atoms, but on the other side of H, there should be another high electronegative atom. An example of a hydrogen bond would be N-H ---- O, with the dotted line being the Hydrogen bond.
Hope that helps.
