What is the difference between the equations:

E=hc/lambda

Lambda = h/mv

the first one is to find the energy of a photon and The second one is DeBroglie's equation

The first equation relates the energy and wavelength of a photon, while the second equation relates the de Broglie wavelength of a particle to its mass and velocity. They solve for different principles and use different variable depending on what the question is asking and what you're given.
