Office Hours
Do we have to go to office hours with a specific question? What other ways can we utilize that resource?

Re: Office Hours
Do you mean Lavelle's office hours or TA/UA office hours? For Dr. Lavelle, it's more of a big discussion section, like on Monday he went over the chem website and the syllabus and whatnot.

Re: Office Hours
Should we be attending as many office hours for Dr. Lavelle? I understand it's not required but am I missing out from not attending them?

I think that if you would like extra help then the office hours are useful. I understand that it is your choice and that they are useful but not required.

Re: Office Hours
On Monday's office hour we just went over the syllabus. But I do recommend going to his office hours when you have time since he is going over materials/topics.
Also, to add on to that question, is the discussion from the Monday office hour the same as Thursday?

Re: Office Hours
In general for all of my classes, I go to office hours regardless of whether or not I have a question. Usually, I can still gain info from other people's questions and discussion about the class curriculum. However, it could be more beneficial to come prepared with a question, as it may be more helpful for personal learning and growth.
I am unsure what this class's office hours will consist of since we are very early in the quarter, but it wouldn't hurt to go just to check them out and see if they could be beneficial to you.
