Hi, the webcams are highly recommended. There are a lot of good webcams on Amazon, and I think anything with 4+ stars should be sufficient. Hope this helps!

Hi! Here is a link to the webcam I purchased: ... UTF8&psc=1. I also have a MacBook Pro, and this camera works excellently.

Hi, I saw a few on Amazon for an affordable prize. I would read the reviews on amazon and also make sure that the webcam is compatible with Macs. Hope this helps!

I think they're required for taking the assessments. But I think it was also mentioned that we would be able to use our phone as the webcam if we can't find one to buy or are unable to buy one.

I think it is up to your TA; if they can see your work area through zoom proctoring, then you should be fine.

I believe that they are recommended if the camera on your device is not functional. They use the cameras to monitor your workspace, so if your camera is foggy or broken, you'll need to get a new one.

They're recommended, I think if you have a camera that can clearly display your work then it should be fine to just use your phone.

I think depending on your TA a webcam may be preferred but I also learned that using your phone, iPad, or some other computer with a built-in webcam would also be sufficient as long as your workspace is clearly visible.

My TA said that we could set our phone up next to our laptop and have the zoom through our phone for the camera for when he's proctoring us, so I think that should be fine.

It is recommended but as long as the TA can see your work area it should be fine.

Hello! Some TAs have said it’s not necessary to purchase one because you could use your phone to be on zoom. But if you do prefer to use a webcam, Amazon has a great selection of ones that could be helpful.

For my discussion, I am just going to log into zoom on another device while the test is going on. Since I am taking the test on respondus on my computer, zoom will be closed, so you have to access zoom on an external device.

During my discussion section, my TA said that we could just use our phones as webcams. As long as your phone can join the zoom call, you can angle your phone's camera towards your working space, thus allowing you to use that instead of having to pay for a webcam!! :)

My TA also told us we can use a phone to point in at our desk area and our face didn't need to be on camera.

I definitely agree with the statements above! as long as the TA can see your workspace.

I recommend using your phone and joining zoom with it. This can serve as your external camera if it shows a good overview of your work space.

To avoid spending money, I think most TA's let you use zoom on your phone as long as they can see your whole workspace.
