Yes, he just mentioned in his discussion section that finals will cover all material from both midterms as well as the material after midterm 2.

Re: Finals
Hi, the final is on Sunday, December 13th. 11:00am-1:30pm. There is an alternative time for international students on the same day from 8:00pm-9:30pm. Here is the link to the exam schedule that can be found on his website. https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... hedule.pdf

I think it'll reflect the same format as our midterms, so I'm guessing there won't be any free responses (hopefully!).

Re: Finals
Yes, cumulative, and I am assuming it will be the same format as the midterms and be multiple choice only with no free response.

Re: Finals
Yes I'm pretty sure it is cumulative having all the material from midterm 1 and 2 plus whatever new things we learn by the end of the quarter.

Re: Finals
The final date and time is on December 13th. from11:00am-1:30pm on a sunday! It is cumulative and my TA said it will reflect the two midterms so most likely multiple choice but plan for many more questions! It covers everything that we have learned and normally has homework/textbook problems on it so remember to practice those!

Re: Finals
I’m pretty sure it’ll be covering everything from weeks 1-10 :( And for those wondering, I’m sure it’ll be MC too, like exams 1 & 2

Darren1e wrote:Also, how can you calculate what grade you need on the final to get an A?
You can figure out how many points you have already lost by looking on My UCLA. There are a total of 500 points so you can miss 35 points for an A, and 50 points for an A-. So you can count up your total and see the maximum number of points you can miss and still get an A.

Re: Finals
The final will be cumulative and multiple choice. It'll also be longer than our midterms because we have 1.5 hours instead of 50 minutes.

Rogerhub is an option or you can simply calculate what you need from the point total breakup listed on the syllabus. There are a total of 500 points for this class and we can miss a max of 35 to get an A.

I'm guessing that we can just because we were able to on the first one. But it would probably just be for a limited number of questions.

Since both midterms were proctored over zoom and respondus, I think we will most likely also be on both because the format of the final will be similar to that of midterms.

Re: Finals
The final is cumulative and I'd assume it is in the same Respondus multiple-choice format. The time slot for the final is given when you look at your class schedule on myucla.

To restate what was mentioned above, I don’t think Dr. Lavelle has mentioned how many questions will be on the final yet.

Re: Finals
It will be cumulative, but I was wondering if there's a breakdown of what will be on the test? I know it'll be a mix of everything, but do we have like a percentage of each topic on the test?

Re: Finals
The final will cover everything from midterm 1 and midterm 2 to the topics right after midterm 2 as well.
