Any tips/suggestions on how to study for the final? Any topics that one should focus on the most?

I usually look over all the outlines and make sure I know what all of it is, so I'm planning on just going over all the outlines again, and if I'm not sure on a certain topic that's what I focus on.

Hello! When I study for midterms I tend to look at the outlines posted on the Chemistry Website! These are very helpful because they state what you should know and provide a list of textbook questions you can do to prepare! These are super great and the content is closely related to the content on the exams! I would say doing these are best! If there are any topics you need help in I would suggest looking here on Chemistry Community, asking TA's, going to office hours/ UA workshops and looking at Youtube videos! (I find that Youtube videos help a ton!) I hope this was helpful!

I would recommend going to TA office hours and workshops for extra practice problems. Also make sure to utilize Dr. Lavelle's Chemistry website to make sure you understand all of the fundamental topics!

This is all great advice, I would also recommend going over both of the midterms and looking at the questions you missed, which I believe you can do by asking your TA if you can review your midterms.

I think it's a good idea to go through and complete the textbook problems, perhaps with a partner. You could also watch videos to help strengthen your understanding of concepts and read through the textbook as well.

Understanding the materials conceptually rather than memorizing certain method/shortcut to solve a problem is also important in my opinion

I'm planning on reviewing the learning outcomes outlined in the syllabus, and seeing where I need to review most. I find its most efficient to review what I need to instead of practicing topics I feel comfortable with. It feels challenging but it's definitely worth the effort :)

I review the textbook problems and the Achieve homework. Looking at the outlines and making sure you are comfortable with the bulleted concepts is a good idea. Also, attending TA sessions can be helpful, too.

Hello, for the final I am doing the textbook problems and reviewing the achieve homework from the beginning of class. I am also going to review some of the topics that I had to work on a little more or that were harder for me. Besides that I am looking over the achieve homework on the questions I had to have more tires on. Hopefully this helps!

A lot of the UA's post worksheets for review that are incredibly helpful (especially if you are unable to attend their sessions). The majority of them have taken Lavelle's class and therefore have knowledge of what his tests are like to help prepare us. The syllabus questions are definitely good practice as well considering Lavelle has made it obvious that some of our previous midterm questions have been pulled exactly from these problems.

Make sure to do the practice problems ahead of time so you can go over specific questions and get a sense of your understanding of the material so you know what to focus on

I usually went to about two before each midterm, but I am definitely going to bump that number up with with final coming up. However there is no specific ua I think anything is useful! For the final my goal is to attend 4, but it is week 10 so I will not be mad if I can only fit in 2-3.

I study by reviewing textbook problems and looking over past finals if you can get access to them from upperclassmen/organizations that have test banks. Rewatching Lavelle's lectures at 2x speed is also helpful.

Personally, I'd redo old homework problems and do the recommended textbook problems. I'd also recommend re-watching old lectures to refresh your memory, and watching YouTube videos on things that still don't quite make sense. Finally, I'd focus a bit more on newer and recent material that we haven't been tested on yet. Best of luck!

I would recommend reading the textbooks for sections you dont fully understand, and working through the problems too. go through the outlines and make sure you understand everything there and I would focus on quantum becuase thats what we spent the most time on.

Personally, doing all of the suggested textbook problems on the syllabus helped. I would also say try to review any information that is slightly confusing by going to review sessions as it makes the conceptual topics easier to understand
