Hi, I was also stuck on this one, this is what I did to reach the solution:

1 J=1 kg⋅m2⋅s−2 to express the mass of the molecule in kg.

1.177×10−22 g/molecule×1 kg1000 g=1.177×10−25 kg/molecule

To calculate the wavelength of a chlorine molecule,

lambda=6.626×10−34 kg⋅m2⋅s−2⋅s(1.177×10−25 kg)(323.9 m⋅s−1)

Return to “DeBroglie Equation”
