Wave Properties of Electrons and the De Broglie Equation Post-Module Assessment

Postby Ben 1B » Sat Oct 12, 2019 3:44 pm

Which steps would one need to take to answer question 31 from the Wave Properties of Electrons and the De Broglie Equation Post-Module Assessment? Also, what information would we need to be able to know to assess whether we can detect wavelengths or observe wave-like characteristics?
31) Calculate the de Broglie wavelength of a 0.155 kg ball traveling at 85.0 m.s-1. Can we detect this wavelength or observe the wave-like characteristics of this ball?

wavelength = h/(mv)

if wavelength is shorter than 10^-15m it is undetectable
