DeBroglie Equation

I have a quick question about the DeBroglie Equation. When exactly do we use it and what units does it deal with? Thank you!! :)

You would use the DeBroglie equation when trying to determine the wavelength of anything with momentum (mass * velocity). It is used in particular for items with very small masses, such as electrons. Typically, when the question is asking about the wavelength or velocity of an electron or a small particle with mass (not light/photons), then it would be appropriate to solve for it using DeBroglie's equation. Since the equation is λ=h/p, the units you would use are joules, seconds, kilograms (not grams), and meters. Joules is equivalent to kgm^2s^-2, so it is critical that you convert the mass of the particle to kilograms.

You use de Broglies equation to find the wavelength of an object with mass when given the mass and velocity of the object. The units for the equation are: Joules•seconds for plancks constant, kg for mass, meters/second for velocity, and meters for wavelength.

DeBroglie Equation is used to calculate DeBroglie Wavelength. You use this when given given that a particle has momentum and are trying to find the wavelength. To find this number you must use Planck's constant and divide that by the mass and velocity of the particle. Since we are calculating wavelength, the units of measurement would usually be in some sort of meters.

Objects that have a rest mass behave like waves. That is the big concept of the De Broglie equation. So this equation is used to solve for the wavelength (or mass or velocity, depending on what the question is asking for and how the equation is rearranged) of any object that has momentum, or a mass and velocity.

You can use the the De Broglie equation when you want to calculate the wavelength of a particle when it is traveling at a certain velocity.

The De Broglie equation is used to calculate the wavelength of a particle when given the mass and velocity, or sometimes momentum is given, which is mass x velocity. Since the equation is used to find the wavelength, then the units are typically meters.

De Broglie's Equation is used to find wavelength, and the equation is H/(mass x velocity) so you are finding wavelike properties

In some of the homework problems you need to know the mass of an electron, neutron, or proton to use the DeBroglie equation and find wavelength. Do we need to have these masses memorized or would they be given on a test?

Just wondering that when we use DeBroglie Equation and Heisenberg Uncertainty Equation, we are using Kg and m as these are the SI units?

De Broglie's Equation proves wavelike properties of electrons by finding wavelength, and the equation is Planck's constant/(mass x velocity) is used for this.
