Hi everyone! My Week 10 Final Review workshop will be hosted today, December 5, from 5pm - 7pm via Zoom. The Zoom link can be found on Dr. Lavelle's website and it's also linked below. My worksheet is linked to this post. Don't feel any pressure to come in having done the worksheet, I'll give you time to work through the problems and we'll work through the questions together. Please also come in with any questions you might have on the homework or anything else. Today will comprise of going over review content from the past ten weeks in the form of practice problems. Hi,
I was confused as to why Cbr2 was notated as a lower pka value. Isn't a lower pka value representative of a stronger acid?

I also had the same question... as we were taught in lecture the relationship between pka, ka, and acidity was: low pka -> high ka -> more acidic OR high pka -> low ka -> less acidic. Wouldn't it make sense for CCl2HCOOH to be a stronger acid?

I think you guys are right, I think she maybe just messed up the answer key by accident
