Hey everyone!
I'll be hosting a general Final review step-up session this Thursday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in YH 4222 (in-person). That being said, this is a two hour step-up session as opposed to two one hour sessions, because we will be doing a pretty big worksheet that touches upon almost all of CHEM 14A. If you plan on attending the entirety of the session, please try to arrive at 3 pm, or maybe even earlier to secure yourself a seat.
You don't have to finish the whole worksheet before coming to the session, but it might be worth it to take a quick look at the worksheet before hand -- there will be a lot of content to review, and while I'll give you time to solve each question, we'll need to keep it moving :)
If you cannot make it to the session, I've made a very detailed answer key that will be uploaded after 5 pm. Hope to see you all there!

also no more mice spice we're using drake (yes, the rapper) now!

Right now!
Great job to everyone who came out today. If you're completing the worksheet on your own and checking answers, please feel free to reach out in this thread if you have any questions :)
Good luck on the final!

Hi! For number 8 of the worksheet, why did you multiply the speed of 0.5m/s by 2?

Good question! ∆v is the overall uncertainty in our velocity, so if we're told that we know the speed to be within plus or minus 0.5, that means our overall uncertainty is 1 (0.5 * 2).
For example, if something is moving at 5 m/s and we know the speed to be + or - 0.5, that means it could be moving anywhere between 4.5 m/s and 5.5 m/s. What's our uncertainty here? We know our speed to be between 4.5 and 5.5, meaning our uncertainty is 1.

To further clarify, if we were instead given an uncertainty of position to be plus or minus a certain value, would we also multiply that value by 2, just as you did for the uncertainty of speed in this problem?
