Measuring Complementary Properties?

Postby Laila Alkhouri 3H » Thu Dec 07, 2023 10:00 pm

How does the Uncertainty Principle relate to the limitations in simultaneously measuring complementary properties of particles like energy and time in chemical reactions? I am confused

In so many words, the concept you are concerned about could be put in a way I would find to be more concise and easy to understand-that with more precision in a measurement comes with less in the other. As for why this happens, this is because this phenomena occurs in pairs, like momentum and position, in that it is possible only to give a more accurate measurement of one at the loss of accuracy of the other, and it is impossible to equally precisely measure both silmauntaneously. This is simply because of the super microscopic realm we begin t deal with when seeking such measurements, and it is difficult to overcome this roadblock on such a quantum level.
