I have read that the Uncertainty Principle states that the act of measurement changes what you are attempting to measure. Is this relevant to our use of the equation? If so, can someone please provide an example of this in action? I understand the concept but I do not understand how it is applied.
Thank you!!

This is incorrect. That is the observer effect. The uncertainty principle simply states that we can only know one variable to a certain degree relative to another variable.
