### Why h/4π?

Where does the h/4π in Heisenberg's Indeterminacy Equation come from? Was it found experimentally? What determined that value?

I'm pretty sure the value was derived experimentally. My TA said that there was a lot of quantum mechanics behind the final derivation of the value that we don't need to know for this class.

The entirety of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle was derived mathematically in fact, not experimentally. If you ever take a quantum mechanics course, you'll probably derive it yourself!
