### H-Bar vs h

Can h-bar and h be used interchangeably when using the heisenberg equation and expect to get the same answer either way? The textbook and solution manual both use h-bar, but in class we always use planck's constant divided by 4pi.

h bar is simply h/2pi. So in the book it says you can use (1/2) X h bar which simplifies to h/4pi therefore we cannot use h bar and planck's constant interchangeably

H-bar is just h divided by 2pi.
Since h= 6.626 x 10^-34
h-bar would be equal to (6.626 x 10^-34) / 2pi = 1.054 x 10^-34
