## Atom's diameter

### Atom's diameter

I am quite confused with the uncertainty in position in problems referring to Heinsberg's Indeterminacy Equation. I understand how to apply the formulas but why its the uncertainty in position equals to the diameter of the atom?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but because of the incorrect model of the atom the electrons were believed to be inside the nucleus. Therefore, the uncertainty of the electrons velocity would be limited to the diameter of the atom because the electrons could move about.

It takes into consideration the uncertainty of Bohr's model of the atom
