$\Delta p \Delta x\geq \frac{h}{4\pi }$

### Uncertainty equation

﻿﻿﻿The equation is
change P x change X >= h/4pi

I understand how to use the equation, but was uncertain on why the pi is used in this equation, can someone please clarify?

Pi (3.14) is just a constant that is used like Plank's constant (h) and the value 4. You will not need to know how that value was attained for the equation.

Pi is simply used as a constant and the professor did not explain why this is used in this equation or how it was derived.

If you want to understand why the uncertainty limit is h/(4pi), you need to understand the derivation of the equation. This will require more advanced topics in quantum mechanics and will not be covered in class.
