HW problem 1.43

Postby Jane Burgan 1C » Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:11 pm

What is the minimum uncertainty in the speed of an electron con ned to within a lead atom of diameter 350. pm? Model the atom as a one-dimensional box with a length equal to the diameter of the actual atom.

How do you model the atom? Is it just a box with a labeled length of 350.pm? Or do we add the a wavelength for the electron inside?

I believe just the drawing of the box is sufficient. But, you could include the wavelength of the electron if you want to.
