Test Question 1a

The question follows:
In an unusual situation, one nitrogen gas molecule is trapped in an alveoli sac. Alveoli are tiny sacs in the lungs whose average diameter is 1.5x10^-4m. Find the uncertainty in velocity of the nitrogen molecule within the sac.

I substituted 1.5x10^-4m into the equation for x, but I'm not sure what the correct mass is within the momentum portion of the equation.

For this, you actually have to calc the mass of the nitrogen gas molecule. The way to do that is first find the molar mass of nitrogen (in this case of n2 bc nitrogen is diatomic). Once you have found the molar mass, divide the molar mass by avagadro's number to find how many gs each molecule weighs. then you have to convert that mass into kgs because momentum only uses kg mass.

Wait, so we have to get the mass of each molecule separately b/c the mass of N2 (14.0067x2) is the molar mass, not the mass of the individual N2 molecule? I also got that question wrong, so I was confused about it
