### Textbook 1B.25

What is the minimum uncertainty in the speed of an electron confined within a lead atom of diameter 350. pm? Model the atom as a one-dimensional box with a length equal to the diameter of the actual atom.

Can someone explain the question? I could not manage to express "uncertainty in the position of the electron is equal to the diameter of the lead atom" mathematically.

The equation for the uncertainty equation is (delta p)(delta x)>(h)/(4pi), where h is planck's constant of 6.63x10^-34, delta p is the spread in values of momentum, and delta x is the spread in values of distance.

Hopefully that helps with the mathematical representation.
