Uncertainty value

Postby tonyhu » Sun Oct 20, 2019 3:36 pm

If the uncertainty in position is + - 5 mm, would the uncertainty be 10mm or 5mm?

Actually, I saw on a recent post that if it is + - n, the uncertainty is 2n. Therefore, the uncertainty of this should be 10 mm, I think.

I'm pretty sure the uncertainty is 10 mm.

Uncertainty is 10mm, because if the uncertainty is something like 5 5+- mm, then it can range from 0 to 10 mm.
