Showing our Work on the Midterm

Postby Taylor K 2D » Thu Oct 22, 2020 3:34 pm

Does anyone know if we are allowed to have scratch paper on the midterm?

In a recent email, Professor said that you could use the back of the periodic table and constants/equations sheet as scratch paper.

So does that mean we can't use just blank sheets of paper or something? :(

My TA said we could use blank papers as scratch paper. Since the camera will be on, they will be able to see and approve your scratch paper.

Yes we will be allowed to have scratch paper lol. Because I do not know how we would be able to do work without it.

We will be allowed scratch paper, but the written work you do will not be submitted and cannot be used for partial credit according to my TA.

I have also heard that we're allowed to use scratch paper on the exam. Does anyone know if there is a specific periodic table for us to print out to use on the exam?

We use the periodic table that Dr. Lavelle provides us on his website! It is next to the equation sheet that is also going to be used in the midterm! Hope this helps.

Hi! As stated above, we can print and use both the periodic table and the equations and constants pages from Dr. Lavelle's website. My TA also said we could bring an extra sheet of paper (maybe just copy paper so it's easier to see how blank it is) and getting it approved at the same time they look at the equations/periodic table sheet. Work won't be used for partial credit, because there are certain questions that have answers that will pass for partial credit. As in, "A" is the correct answer, but if you put "B" you'll get 20% of the question's points.

Hello! Just to add on, make sure you don't have any markings on your equation sheets before you start the exam because then the TA wont allow you to use it then.
