Module Question

Postby Myra Goraya Dis 2E » Fri Oct 15, 2021 7:24 pm

Use the above uncertainty in velocity to calculate the electron's uncertainty in kinetic energy. Then calculate the uncertainty in kinetic energy per mole of electrons (that is, per mole of hydrogen atoms).

Would you multiply or divide by avogrados number and why?

Hello!

For this question you would divide by Avogadro’s number because the answer you get when using the uncertainty principle formula is for a single electron. Thus, to convert number of electrons to moles, we would divide by Avogadro’s number. I hope this helps!

Hi!

The formula for the uncertainty principle is for one electron, so in order to get the number of moles we divide by Avogadro's number.

In order to convert the number of electrons to moles you would divide by Avogadros number! Hope this helps.

Hi! You would have to divide by avogadros number since you are trying to go from electrons to moles. This is because by using the uncertainty equation, you are solving for only one electron.

Yeah, you would want to divide Avogadro's number!

I believe that you would need to divide avagadro's number, since we need to convert from electrons to moles.

Yes, you are correct. You would divide by Avagrado's number because you want to convert the number of electrons you have to moles.

You would divide by avagrados number.
