delta v
I just wanted to confirm that the delta symbol signifies "change in"... and that when deltap is simplified, it would equal deltav x m

Re: delta v
Yes, delta in any case usually represents the change in something, therefore the amount is positive.

Re: delta v
This is correct! The symbol delta means change and with momentum, since mass would be a constant value, the "change" would only apply to speed.

Hi! Yes, the delta symbol represents the amount of "change" or "difference". As stated above, that means the delta value should always be a positive number.

Delta typically signifies "change in," but in the Heisenberg equation, the delta signifies "uncertainty in." So delta v is "uncertainty in velocity" and delta x is "uncertainty in position." And yes, when delta p is broken up, it's equal to delta v * m
Return to “Heisenberg Indeterminacy (Uncertainty) Equation”
