Wavelength of particle vs photon.

Postby 106036120 » Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:30 am

When determining the wavelength of something how do we determine what formula to use? In other words whats the difference between the wavelength of an electron and the wavelength of a photon.

To determine the wavelength of a photon, you can use the formula λ=c/f where λ is wavelength, c is the speed of light, and f is the frequency of the light.
To determine the wavelength of an electron or other particle, use the formula λ=h/mv, where h is Plank's constant, m is the mass of the particle, and v is the velocity of the particle.
