Are we expected to know orientations and descriptions of the "P sub x/y/z" orbitals beyond the fact that their lobes are oriented along their respective axes?

My T.A. just mentioned that we only really need to know the axes that each lie on. I think anything more than that won't be tested.

In Outline 2, it states that we must be able to "describe and identify s-, p-, and d-orbitals.". What you mentioned does suffice in terms of what we should know about the orientation along the different axes. One thing to keep in mind is that the p orbital has nodal planes, unlike the s orbital. I believe we are not required to draw any of the different types of s,p,d or f orbitals. However, we should know how many types there are of each.
