p- orbital

If the p-orbitals involves the dumbbell shape in all three axes, which axis is filled with electrons first?

The px orbital is filled first, which is horizontal to the atom. Then, the py orbital is filled, which is vertical to the atom. Finally, the pz orbital is filled, which is from the front to the back of the atom. However, each position must have one electron each before being filled with two electrons, due to Hund's rule.

Technically you can label the axes in any order you want, however the general rule is: x, y, z
Hund's rule states, however, electrons must fill one in each P axes before they are paired. This means that there has to be one electron in Px, Py, and Pz, before there are paired electrons in Px, for example. Look up Nitrogen's electron configuration and compare it to Oxygen's, this might be helpful in understanding Hund's rule.
