Dz^2 Orbital

Postby Chu 3J » Mon Oct 12, 2015 1:14 am

If this orbital has a ring around it, would it still have 2 nodes like the other d orbitals?

All d-orbitals have two angular nodes. dz2 happens to have two nodes that are cone-shaped instead of planes.
