Core, Closed shell, and valence electrons

Postby manasa933 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 6:19 pm

Are valence electrons the electrons in the outermost orbital or shell?
Is the inner core basically all the closed shells?

Valence electrons are in the outermost shell, known as the valence shell. The inner core consists of filled orbitals. Hope this helps!

The inner core also consists of electrons in other energy levels surrounding the nucleus.
