Difference between the quantum number for particle and electron

Postby Jonghwee Park 1K » Sun May 06, 2018 10:22 pm

What is the difference between the principal quantum number for a particle and the principal quantum number for an electron?

Isn't the quantum number just the energy level, so it would be the same for both? I am also confused by this.

when we talk about the principle quantum number for a particle, we are referring to electrons

the particle is the electron. the principle quantum number is the orbital the electron rotates in (S,P,D,F)
