ml Quantum Number and d-Orbital Orientation.

Similarly to how we know that ml=-1 in the p-orbital would mean that the orbital is aligned on the x axis, would we need to know what each ml number in the d orbital corresponds to? And if so, what orientation corresponds with each ml number?

There is no convention for whether -1, 0, 1 corresponds to px, py, or pz. These quantum numbers merely tell us that there are three p orbitals in different orientations. The same applies to d orbitals. The sign and number do not correspond to a particular d orbital.
