test 2 topics
This was probably already asked, but will electron configurations be on test 2? For example, will we need to know the ground state electron configuration of an element??

Re: test 2 topics
On Dr. Lavelle's outline for the quantum world, it says we should be able to write the ground-state electron configuration for an element or ion (Aufbau Principle). We should probably know how to write at least a basic electron configuration, though I'm not sure how much of it will actually be on the test.

Re: test 2 topics
I dont think writing an electron configuration will be on the test, as we did not go over that in Fridays Lecture. Dr. Lavelle said to be comfortable with the following topics: photoelectric effect, De Broglie wavelengths, Heisenberg Uncertainty, Atomic Spectra, and quantum #s.
