Test #2 Question #5b

Postby Daniel Kim 1D » Sat Dec 08, 2018 11:19 am

The question is what is the probability of finding an electron in the exact center of this orbital?
The answer is 0% but I can’t figure out why. Can someone explain this to me?

There is a nodal plane in that area and the probability of finding an election in the nodal plane is 0.

nodal planes are the regions in which there is a zero % chance of finding an electron.
