Atomic Spectra Question

Postby Ghadir Seder 1G » Fri Oct 11, 2019 12:41 am

I'm pretty confused as to what the lines that essentially look like a barcode to me mean... Can anyone help with the explanation?
Thanks!

They should be specific quantities for the frequencies of different colored or different variations of light/radiation. They look like barcodes to show discrete each form of energy is and how the radiation resembles a spectrum rather than individual units.

I thought it was by wavelength, not frequency, although I guess because they're proportional it doesn't matter.

Sorry to possibly add confusion, but can you explain how you would use the relationship between wavelength and frequency to read that "barcode" image thing?
