Postby Kavee Dodampahala 4E » Sun Oct 20, 2019 4:26 pm

Is a wave function just the set of the four quantum numbers of an electron?

No, a wavefunction is a mathematical function that estimates the trajectory of an electron.

To add on to the previous response, the wave function is denoted with Ψ and while it actually represents the math function, you are able to get n, l and m(l), the first three quantum numbers, from it.

The wave function gives rise to the idea of orbitals. It was given to explain the concept of orbitals but it won't be necessary to know how to solve.

Yea wave function is associated with the three letter l,m,n. And its for electron trajectory really.
